Drone flying

Use of drones at Køge Havn is only permitted with prior approval.

When using drones at Køge Havn, the procedure described below must be followed for each individual flight permission request.

Køge Havn refers to Dronebekendtgørelse (Drone Regulation) no. 1649 of December 12, 2023, particularly §21 regarding flights in areas with access control, as well as the applicable EU drone regulations (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945).

Flying a drone at Køge Havn, regardless of purpose, requires permission from Køge Havn. Permission is issued by the Port Facility Security Officer via email: pfso@koegehavn.dk.
Authorization for both the drone and the drone pilot must be attached when submitting the application.
Køge Havn reserves the right to assess whether a requested drone flight can be conducted, taking into account the interests of the port and its customers.
Permissions are granted only as single-use permissions. A new application must be submitted for each requested flight.
It is always the drone pilot’s responsibility to comply with all applicable rules and regulations, including national and EU requirements.

Ship waste management

By establishing effective ship waste management solutions, the Port of Køge wishes to develop a positive environmental effect by responsibly managing the docking ships operational and cargo waste. The aim is to smoothen the task for the ships that dock in the Port of Køge. This can be a contribution to lower the contamination of the sea environment. The Port of Køge has a ship waste management program in the following categories:

Annex I – Oil Waste

All types of oil waste deriving from transport of oil, like fuel, by products of engines, tanks and dirty bilge water.

Annex II – Chemicals

Remains and mixtures of liquid chemicals, transported in bulk.

Annex III – Damaging substances

Damaging drugs transported in cargo-shape.

Annex IV – Wastewater

Waste water and other types of waste from any and all types of toilets, washing facilities and drainage from hospital facilities and places where there are live animals and other types of wastewater.

Annex V – Garbage from operations

Normal types of garbage, which has been produced as a natural part of the operations of the ship. Cannot contain: Batteries, asbestos, electronics, refrigerators, light bulbs, oil and chemical waste.
