The port of Køge and STC make up the
backbone in “logistic cluster of Køge”
FACTS
- STC is combined with the port of Køge as a collaborative unit for development.
- The expansion of the Køge-Bugt freeway from six to eight tracks underlines Køge as a national crossroad.
- A new railroad called “Copenhagen – Ringsted” is being developed with a station in the north of Køge – very close to STC.
- STC has just undergone an expansion of 50 ha to a total of 180 ha.
- STC has it’s own access road to the three main freeways E20, E47 and E55.
- Port of Køge and STC are less than 5 km apart.
- The port of Køge and the transport center has the same director by the name of Thomas Elm Kampmann.
The Port of Køge is a part of the Scandinavian Transport Center, which is Zealands biggest business and transport area with a location in direct connection with the European highway network, railroad network and “the blue highway”. The port of Køge and STC represents an optimal infrastructure, with great significance to the business development of Køge, the area of Copenhagen and the region as a whole.
The Scandinavian Transport Center is also under further development. Just like the harbour the transport center is also being expanded with additional space as a result of more companies choosing STC as their home base. The current companies are also expanding with more departments and functions. STC is ideally placed directly to the main highway networks of Denmark (the E20, E47 and E55), which is ideal for trucking companies, curriers, freight forwarding, warehouses etc. with a big transport need and a need for a central placement within Denmark and onwards to the rest of Scandinavia and Europe

The new habour combined with STC and the future railroad connections between Copenhagen and the city of Ringsted will, in combination with the opening of the Fehmarn Belt connection and the expansion of the highway around Køge, assure Køge’s position as a pulsating generator; creating jobs and securing economic growth for the future generations. This is a development that will benefit everybody in Køge – as well as big parts of Zealand.
