- Port of Køge is experiencing an increase in ship and freight traffic
- We create profit from ship and freight taxes
The Port of Køge is Denmark’s eighth largest port in terms of goods turnover by weight. In 2013 the Port of Køge yielded a record profit of 8,320 mio. DKK. This number is more than one million DKK more than in 2012, where the Port of Køge yielded 7,187 mio. DKK profit.
The great result is due to the fact that traffic in freight and shipping – after the years of economic crises – has started to grow again. This gives the Port of Køge more revenue from ship and goods handling fees. However we are not resting on the laurels. We are currently working hard to expand and strengthen the harbor, so we will be ready for the growing demands of the future.
In the future the Port of Køge will have the possibility to service bigger clients with bigger ships. The harbor is already now experiencing an interest to move freight with ship through the Port of Køge.
